Be careful. my Kaspersky Internet Security program says the site is infected with a Trojan Clicker Virus and prevented me from accessing it. Too Bad. I really want to go to SLO town.

If this is true, then I would like the mod to remove it. I don't wish to be spreading bad links around the joint...

              Wow.
Sorry about that. Can't hardly trust anyone these day!

DO NOT CLICK ON THAT LINK!!!

I'll send a PM to the mod and ask her to remove it.

              Thanks *Curmudgeon*

Here is the official site as far as I can tell....

so is this the infected link referenced above?

Is there a SAFE link for this?

As far as I can tell these are the offical sites (actually site) for History Revisited and the Central Coast Ren Faire. Personally, I haven't had any signs of a virus nor have I had a notification pop up on either my home computer (Norton protected) or my work computer (McAfee + a hardcore firewall)(I do mean industrial strength hardcore firewall).
Honestly, the website doesn't give up all that much info other than the dates etc. If you have questions beyond the time and place type, I would take Kurt's advice and join the SLO Talkers tribe, they know *stuff*...
                      Cheers!

I am using Kapersky Anti-virus, which is supposed to be a higher end security program than Norton or McCafee. It identifies this virus:

                        Trojan-clicker.js.agent.h.

Apparently Kaspersky detects it and so does Zone Alarm, but Norton and McCafee do not. It is suggested that it is a false positive or an legitimate Active-X element. Way over my head. I hate computer security issues.

Perhaps History Revisited should be told their website is infected?

May or may not be infected. Hard to tell. I thought about contacting them, but their contact info would be on their website.

actually there is a major virus for Macs it's called leopard I believe aka OS 11.

LOL Untill they build games for macs I'll keep my PC thank you very much.

but what this has to do with SLO-Faire I'll never know.

Actually I went to your link and got the same warning, hit the wrong button and then had to delete an infected file. Whatever it is, Zonealarm and Kaspersky pick it up, MacCafee and Norton don't. My internet security might be overreacting or not, I'm not qualified to know.

It's possible that it's not a virus, but basic spyware - I've had trips on ZoneAlarm that I've researched out, and they class a few of the more noxious adware widgets out there as virus. McAfee/Norton usually doesn't take those down - it's bad business relations to nuke "legitimate" spyware unless you're running a spyware removal program. Or unless you, y'know, give a damn about your customers.

This happened before with the site of my favorite skating rink. It read fine about a month later.

Similar with photobucket recently. Other people could get their accounts apparently but I know I couldn't. Anytime connecting to an image Firefox would say it couldn't find the server. Any attempt to go directly to photobucket or my account and it would redirect to atpsace or some other web hosting junk site. Not surprised considering all of the mal-vertisements they have on the site.
